May 2012 IHSW 2

What a lovely stitchey weekend! I got quite a bit done on Sarabande, and like the way this is turning out.  Looks like I'm about half-way done!

Here's a close-up of the piece I worked on this weekend.

Oh!  I almost forgot... here'a a picture of my Old Ratty Threads (ORTs) for the Totally Useless Stitch ALong (TUSAL).  I live like a mile away from a big antique mall, so I picked out two nice, though dirty, cruets that I thought would make nice ORT jars.  Well, after trying about half a dozen different methods, I couldn't get the white film out of them.  "Oh, Honey, I need to back over to Bunker Hill Antiques!"  "Now what for?!"  "Another ORT jar!"  So, I went back (he actually went with me) and found another, CLEAN one!  And this one even had the glass stopper.  So, here we have it, so far.  Not bad for a start, eh?

Happy Stitching!

Marilyn

  1. I really like the piece you're working on - great colours and design. Would you mind telling me the designer and pattern name?

    1. Thanks, Bea. It's called Sarabande, by Long Dog Samplers. The original colors are two shades of brown, black, gray, mauve, and antique violet. I wanted something to go with my lavender bedroom, and not so drab, so I swapped out the colors for three varied shades of teal/seafoam green and three varied shades of purple/lavender. The evenweave has metallic threads with green and teal in it, too. Sparkly!
